Tracheal mite

The gouldian finch is a bird very vulnerable to tracheal mite that is found in the dust of our cages.
When affected, the bird is restless, rubbing his beak on the cage and also with the paw rubbing your own neck.
A bird severely affected can even hear the characteristic tissc-tissc.
For treatment, you should use the acariasma avizoon. Sprinkle the seeds with the powder so that when feeding the bird, bring the product to the buccal cavity which together with the saliva will kill the mite.
In prevention you can use the same product, spreading it through the cages and nests.
A clean house and well ventilated facilitates prevention.
